Join video artist Toh Hun Ping, filmmaker Shireen Seno and curator Silke Schmickl for a panel discussion on experimental cinema in Southeast Asia. The speakers will discuss experimental film in Southeast Asia over the past 10 years, the current scene and future directions, how the experimental film form has been presented in the art world, and their own experiences with creating and presenting work in this genre.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Leong Puiyee, who manages film programmes at Objectifs.

Dance of a Humble Atheist is a new work and the first solo exhibition by Toh Hun Ping, one of Singapore's most innovative contemporary video artists.

In a meticulous work created through the painstaking, frame by frame animation and digital manipulation of over 600 ceramic reliefs he has handmade, Toh expounds on death, faith, the possibility of the afterlife, the natural world, consciousness, and time.

Terra Animism: The Extended Sculpture

Join video artist Toh Hun Ping and Tricia Lim, an artist specialising in sculpture and ceramics, in this workshop that seeks to bring together the practices of clay sculpting and animation.

Suitable for ages 13 and above, no prior experience is needed and materials and tools will be provided. Participants should attend both sessions and will leave with a series of fired clay objects and a short animated clip.
